A client, tech partner, supplier or even teammate may ask you about placing a pixel on their website. There are some places that we cannot place pixels due to the nature of sensitive or protected data. Those places include:
- Any page that collects:
- Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
- Personal Health Information (PHI)
- Personal Financial Information (PFI)
- Any page that asks for a password
- Any page that is beyond a user login
- If you need to log in to access the page, it's sensitive data and we cannot place a pixel there.
These common sense data safety practices will keep Crossmedia, our partners and our clients in compliant with the ever changing data restrictions (GDPR, CCPA, HIPPA, etc).
Practice safe pixeling!
Pixels are any pieces of code that Crossmedia, or our tech partners (study partners, etc) or platforms (like TTD, Meta, CM360, etc) request to have placed on a client's website. There are no exceptions to the above rules.
